Kosta Stamoulis

Director of Research and Conservation

Kosta is a marine spatial ecologist and fisheries scientist with over 17 years of experience conducting interdisciplinary research to support sustainable management of coastal and marine resources. His expertise ranges from ecological sampling design and monitoring methods, to statistical inference, to applying GIS and remote sensing to develop decision support tools that inform management. He has worked on a variety of applied research projects in Hawaii, Fiji, Seychelles, and the Caribbean. Kosta holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Curtin University, Perth, Australia, a Masters in Geography from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, and a BA in Marine Science from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo.
